Target standard
This website is built against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, conformance level AA.
Measures in place
- Full keyboard operability, including a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content
- Semantic HTML structure with a consistent heading hierarchy and labelled landmarks
- Text alternatives for images that carry information; decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology
- Text-to-background contrast ratios that meet level AA requirements
- Form fields with permanently visible labels, programmatically associated error messages and focus moved to the first error
- Motion and scroll animation is switched off entirely when the operating system requests reduced motion
- Responsive layout that remains usable up to 400 per cent zoom without horizontal scrolling
- Expandable question-and-answer sections use native HTML elements and stay readable without JavaScript
Known limitations
- A few portrait photographs are carried over from the previous website and exist only at low resolution.
- The site has so far been reviewed internally. An independent conformance assessment is still outstanding.
