Litigation PR and proceedings communication

A case is decided in court and judged in public.

Communications support for court, regulatory and inquiry proceedings, coordinated with legal counsel.

What it is about

Silence during proceedings is often legally right and communicatively devastating. The task is to serve both at once without sacrificing either.

Lawyers optimise for the case, communicators for perception. Without coordination the two work against each other: a statement that is harmless in court can read as an admission in the newspaper, and a convincing public explanation can end up in the file.

Our role is the interface. We work with legal counsel, not beside them, and establish in advance which statements are possible, who makes them and which questions must stay unanswered, together with a reason that can be defended in public.

The points that decide

  • Coordination

Every statement is checked legally, every legal strategy communicatively.

  • Presumption of innocence

It applies even when coverage ignores it.

  • Parliamentary inquiry

A public hearing is a media format with legal consequences.

  • Afterwards

An acquittal does not automatically restore reputation.

How we work on it

  • High-Level Strategy & Campaigning

A business strategy becomes a communications programme that reaches its goals faster.

  • Professional Analysis & Monitoring

Curated monitoring of initiatives, draft legislation and public debate - assessed against your business goals.

  • Stakeholder & Network

Simply "knowing" people adds nothing. Robust relationships of trust with decision-makers do.

Frequently asked

Is litigation PR permitted?

Yes, within clear limits. Influencing witnesses, breaching the confidentiality of proceedings and statements that endanger an investigation are not permitted. Presenting your own position and correcting factual errors in coverage is.

When should litigation PR be brought in?

As soon as it is foreseeable that a case will become public, not once it already is. The moment a newsroom calls is the latest useful one. Anything before that allows preparation instead of reaction.
